World leaders hold you in high esteem, Ki-moon tells Buhari

President Buhari's fight against corruption and terrorism has been lauded and backed by UN Secretary General, Ban Ki-Moon, Special Adviser to President Buhari on Media and Publicity, Mr. Femi Adesina, has disclosed.

According to Adesina,  Ki-moon told Buhari that  leaders across the world hold him in high esteem for the new image he has given Nigeria.

Speaking, Mr Ban Ki-Moon said “You are highly respected by world leaders, including myself. Your person has given your country a positive image.”

Adesina quoted Ban Ki-Moon as saying this during a bilateral meeting with the President on the sidelines of the 71st UN General Assembly in New York.

He went ahead to disclose that the UN recognised the successes of the Buhari's administration against Boko Haram, urging that human rights be upheld always, to prevent a repeat of  Syria scenario. Thanking the Nigerian leader for his commitment to issues on climate change, Ban Ki-Moon added that the government should “own the Sustainable Development Goals,” for the good of its citizens
