FG Should Not Sell Our National Assets

It is wrong for anyone to negotiate while hungry as it will only amount to temporary solution. FG should not take this joke too far.

We have followed this path before and nothing came out of it. The narrative that we should repeat it will not augur well for betterment of the innocent public. Though there is nothing bad in selling some of our public assets but not in time like this when we are like Esau in the holy bible.

Firstly, we are not ready for such and hurried attempt to do so will lead to give-away prices.

Secondly, the cabals are bent to pocket our commonwealth at any given time.

Also, the economy is not too bad for us to manage but we are the sincere managers?

The narrative to get out these woods should be reduction in cost of governance, transparency, accountability and holistic patriotism. A situation where a serving Senator or Minister is still collecting back-breaking allowances as ex-governor or ex-deputy governor.

A clime where President’s Aides on media and propaganda are 4 in number with another 2 on National Assembly matter. A country where governors pocket any amount they like as security votes. A nation where Presidency is controlling 11 aircraft where the remaining populace jostle for 35.

If we should do so on these premises we will end up feeding the political elites at the expense of innocent public.

If selling our national assets is the last resort then we should ask ourselves where we are going. We should carry people along and sell at the actual values of these assets not rumbling estimates.

Our national assets should not end up in the pockets of selfish capitalists.
