Ondo 2016: Akintelure, Akinnola Steps Down For Tinubu's Candidate, Abraham

By OLUSEGUN ADEGBENRO

Obviously, the crisis rocking the All Progressives Congress in Ondo State which followed the endorsement of Dr Olusegun Abraham by the national leader of the party, Asiwaju Bola Tinubu has been laid to rest, as some of the aspirants that participated in the friction today in Akure collapsed their structure for Dr Olusegun Abraham from Akoko, South of Ondo State.

Dr Segun Abraham is a business developer, and frontline Governorship aspirant jostling for the party ticket in a Governorship primary on Saturday.

In a joint meeting that lasted for hours in the presence of journalist at Segun Abraham's house at Akure, featured Dr Paul Akintelure, from Okitipupa, South Senatorial district who was the running mate of Mr Rotimi Akeredolu, SAN a governorship aspirant of Action Congress, ACN in 2012, and Engr Akinyinka Akinola from Ondo, Central Senatorial district.

The duo while speaking with journalist in Akure later today said, they have concluded arrangement and have immediately collapse their structures for Dr Segun Abraham. Dr Paul Akintelure, said, nothing is impossible in politics. We are all after the same goals with different ideals, "I have known Dr Abraham for many years, he is a member, Infact one of the founding members of All Progressives Congress in Ondo, his contributions and political strength is not a light feather. He is worthy of this development, and there is no regret. We have decided to pitch tents with him because of his integrity and compassion to drive the vision of our party.

The era of bad conflict resolution is gone. APC, in Ondo state marching towards alagbaka on mission to end impunity of Iroko". He concluded.

Mr Akinnola on other hand, thank all his campaign coordinators, supporters, all leaders leaders of the party who have solidify intentions to support him, he assured them while handling them over to Dr Segun Abraham of a productive tenure in office if, and only if we all rally behind him.

Saturday, "I have appealed and charged all my delegates from my wards, local government and senatorial district to give their vote to Segun Abraham he is a tested and trusted leader with impeccable records.

With this development, it appears sanity has again be restored to the only competitive opposition in the state, APC. This is no doubt could be linked to the Presidency intervention on Monday where the Secretary to the Government of Federation, SGF, Mr Babachir David-Lawal assured all invited aspirants of free, credible governorship primary election. He also refuted rumors of Presidency imposing a candidate which was the major cause of the ripples.

Away from the earlier snowball that rocked the party, which caused enough ripples, all seem set for the primary election which is scheduled to hold this Saturday.

The meeting is the first yielding of reconciliation process orchestrated by the National executive council, NEC to settle the turmoil that almost expelled the State Chairman of the party from his seat. Here them:
