NGO Drums Support For Diversification, Empowers 100 Farmers In Kwara

In its support for the Federal Government's commitment to diversification of the Nigerian economy, Adewale Adeniyi Foundation has empowered no fewer than 100 farmers in Iludun Oro community of Kwara state.

The foundation devoted to economic transformation through perspective change, capacity building, knowledge and financial empowerment across Nigeria launched the initiative under its scheme tagged "Make Farmers Rich."

In a statement signed by the Secretary of the Foundation, Mr Debo Abogunrin, he said the scheme is aimed at upgrading subsistent farmers into commercial farming and make them be part of the agricultural revaluation and ongoing waves of diversification in the country.

The scheme created to essentially target local farmers in the Nigeria has so far engaged over 100 farmers in Iludun Oro. "At the moment about one hundred of such farmers are been empowered in different aspects of farming system and settlements in other to upgrade their farming standard and ensure food security in Nigeria. This is also in line with the United Nations SDGs to end hunger and ensure food security" Debo stated.

Further speaking, Debo made it known to the farmers that the foundation is currently working with African Development Bank and other financial institutions across the world in providing sufficient funds for farmers. Iludun Oro which is the current location of the farmers has large natural reserves and contributions to the economy of the Kwara state through farming.
