Top contender for National Chairman of Peoples Democratic Party, PDP,

Raymond Dokpesi has said Nigeria has become more polarized than ever

before under the watch of All Progressive Congress, APC led government.

Speaking to journalists at a PDP rally in Marmara, in Nasarawa State at

the weekend, Dokpesi said the country has become more divided under APC

than it was during its civil war.
Dokpesi said his party {PDP} was able to hold the country together and

that it remains the only party that has the  capacity to deal with the

issues of uniting  and stabilizing the country.
Dokpesi said PDP is the only political party that has the expertise to

resuscitate Nigeria’s ailing economy under APC.

“We must be very very hopeful, we must look to the future with a lot of

prayers.
I believe that PDP is the only party that can provide the support; that

can provide a rejuvenation of the Nigerian economy; that can really deal

with the issues of unity and stability.
This country is more divided than it was during the civil war”, he said.

Dokpesi pointed out that Nigerians would have a better country when PDP

returns to power in 2019.
The PDP rally in Nassarawa was at the behest of the Chairman of the Board

of Trustees, Walid Jubril.
Jubril used the occssion to call for unity within the party.

He said the party needs to come to terms with its current situation and

work towards achieving peace and reposition itself for future election

victories.
To achieve this  Jubril believes  the party must do away with the culture

of impunity and imposition.
He said members must begin to subject themselves to the will of the party.

“Our party needs to run away completely from impunity. We have to be able

to accept the reality of the situation that we are in today and forget

about all our differences and ensure that this party remains unbeatable

party”, he said.
He added that PDP has all the ingredients to rule Nigeria again.

Jubril said reconciliation talks are on with former National Chairman, Ali

Modu Sheriff; optimistic that the party would soon resolve the crisis

within.
Dokpesi's candidacy for the coveted seat of National Chairman of PDP is

reinforced in Nassarawa as he garners more endorsements from party leaders

and delegates in the State.
