RED CROSS GIVES BACK TO HUMANITY

The 2015 Abuja NYSC batch B, Red Cross Community Development Group, on Thursday gave back to the society by donating a block of toilets to Internally Displaced Persons at the Durumi camp, Abuja.

The president of the CDS, Benjamin Ukpong, said the aim of the group was to put smiles on the faces of the displaced persons, which they are happy to have done. And asked that individuals and organizations follow in their footsteps.

He said, the CDS had visited the camp at various time to bring donations and after checking the grounds, were promoted them to build a modern toilet facility for the IDP's

A representative of the state coordinator at the hand over of the facility, Yohanna Michael, congratulated the Corp members for their foresight and prayed heavenly rewards for them. He asked the supervisors of the camp to take proper care of the facility given to them.

He asked other Corp members to emulate the CDS so as to bring development around their communities.

Bala Yusuf, one of the representative at the camp expressed his gratitude.

"We say thank you for this project on behave of all Internally Displaced Persons living in this camp."

"This are the kind of assignments and assistance government suppose to do for refugees."

A spokesperson for the IDP's, Halilu Idriss, expressed gratitude.

" it's a thing of jo that the leaders of tomorrow are here now doing this, that goes to show that when in places of authority they would do the right thing. "

"I was to use this medium to tell people that we live but once and money is meant to serve man and not the other way around. They should learn to help people around that need it"

Members of the Red Cross CDS group also had a cookout for the children in the camp and brought cloths and toys for them.
