Vote For Me To Run Home Grown Democracy, Olabimtan Urges Akoko People

A Governorship Aspirant on the platform of All Progressive Congress (APC) in Ondo State, Mr. Victor Olabimtan has promised to run a government of the grassroots people, by the grassroots people and for the grassroots people.

The former Speaker of the State House of Assembly also said 50% of his cabinet members shall be less than 40 years of age. He promised to give 40% of his appointment across board to women, stating that the operandi of "use and dumb" will have no room in his government if elected.

Olabimtan who spoke on Thursday in Oka-Akoko, the headquarters of Akoko Southwest Local Government Area while meeting with APC Delegates from the local government urged the people of the area to vote for a leader that will be accountable to them; a leader known to them; a leader that live with them and a leader that will be accessible to them.

"My first agenda is human capital development. I will run a home grown democracy. By God grace, I will strive towards making sure that the current institutionalized poverty in our state is reduced to a minimum.

"I will use Ondo money to develop Ondo people. All our project contracts shall be executed by Ondo people. The youths and women of Ondo State shall be adequately empowered. 40% of the appointments shall be given to women while the 50% shall go to the younger people.

"Again, I want to prove that not all politicians are liars. With all due respect to my daddies and mummies in Akoko land, I Victor Olabimtan want to say today that No Son or Daughter of this nationality in the public service, either past or present can match my meritorious records in Akokoland.

As Speaker, I empowered Akoko people. As Chairman of Ondo State Teaching Service Commission, I tried my best for Akoko people. As Commissioner in Federal Civil Service Commission, I did well for Akoko people. Therefore, I am here to plead that you send me again.

The Supare Akoko born politician further emphasized on the need to devolve power in Ondo State, promising that if elected, more local governments shall be created so as to bring government closer to the people.

Responding on behalf of the delegates, the chairman of APC in Akoko South West Local Government, Mr. Bola Daodu thanked Olabimtan for his visit, promising that the people of Akoko will not betray Akoko land during the APC primaries slated for Wednesday August 31.
