Imo Deputy Governor, Prince Eze Madumere while calling on Niger Delta Youths of Imo State extraction to remain peaceful and law abiding, urged the Presidency to ensure the real ex-agitators in Imo are also given needed empowerment and re-integrated like their counterparts from other States.

Prince Madumere made this remark earlier today while receiving in audience the Special Adviser to the President on Niger Delta Affairs and Coordinator of Presidential Amnesty Programme, Brig. General Paul Tarela Boro who paid him a courtesy visit.

Prince Madumere expressed dismay on issue of lack of proper information management in relation to the programmes of the Federal Government towards re-integrating ex-agitators in the oil producing areas of Imo State.

He therefore proposed creating a liaison office for the Coordinator of Presidential Amnesty Programme in Imo State for proper information gathering and coordination for better planning for all concerned.

Speaking further, he also proposed town hall meetings in some concerned communities so as to interface with the people concerned.

He expressed gladness for the visit of Brig. Boro, saying that his visit will create room for Imo State government and his office to straighten some areas as it concerns ex-militants from the State.

Speaking earlier, General Boro hinted that some of the ex-militants in Imo State have been gained in various areas of importance especially in Aircraft Piloting, Aircraft maintenance engineering and in other areas.

He however asserted that the area of interest to train other batch of ex agitators is agriculture, describing it as a veritable focus of the government to resuscitate Nigeria's dwindling economy.

Among other top Imo State government officials present during the courtesy call were the Deputy Chief of Staff (Operations) Special Assistant on Niger Delta Affairs, Hon. Justin Ojika, Adviser to the Deputy Governor on Community Government Council.
