Be Steadfast With God, Gov Udom Emmanuel Tells Akwa Ibom Youths
Governor Udom Emmanuel has charged youths of Akwa Ibom state to be Steadfast with God and shun all vices inimical to their growth.
He said only virtues of hard work, steadfastness and obedience to constituted authorities can propel them to a good future.
The governor stated this in Ikot Ekpene in an address at a service to mark the one year anniversary of the Akwa Ibom Youth Prayer and to mark the August Edition of the monthly prayers.
Represented by the Commissioner for Special Duties Engr. Etido Inyang, he applauded the Office of the Special Assistant on Youth Matters for taking the youths of the state to God and promised to continue creating opportunities for the youths to maximize their potentials.
Also speaking, the Finance Commissioner, Mr. Akan Okon said the youths have proven themselves as God abiding and good citizens and promised his support for the youths of the state.
On his part, the Commissioner for Agriculture Dr. Nathan Ekaette said, lauded the youths for recognizing the need to pray and shape a future of hope for Akwa Ibom State, and also advised the organizers to move the prayers to colleges and Schools which will also help the students in their upbringing.
Akwa Ibom Youth prayer conference is a monthly prayer summit organized by the Office of the Special Assistant to the Governor on Youth Matters Mr. Aniefiok Iwaudofia, with this month's theme as "IT IS THE LORD'S DOING"
Dignitaries at the event were Sen. Emmanuel Ibok Essien, Hon Felicia Bassey Deputy Speaker AKHA, Elder Ufot Ebong, SSA to the Governor on Due Process and Brand Management, Mrs. Nse Etido Inyang, Rt Hon Nsikak Ekong Former Member AKHA, Mr. Ime Uwah S. A Marketing and Brand Management, Hon. David Umanah Transition Chairman Ikot Ekpene.
The programme held at the Redeemed Christian Church of God (King of Glory Parish) Ikot Ekpene, and the Provincial Pastor of the Church , Pastor Godwin James urged the youths of the state to always seek the face of God in all their doing.
The vote of thanks was given by the Secretary for Akwa Ibom State Youth Coalition Mr. Linus Effiong who appreciated the Governor, Mr Udom Emmanuel for giving the youths of Akwa Ibom State a sense of belonging and for also supporting the Youth at all level, furthermore he also expressed appreciation to the Dignitaries who has in one way or the other supported the Youth of the state.
High-point of the event was the presentation of An Award Of Service to the Governor Udom Emmanuel, Engr Etido Inyang, Commissioner for youths, sport, Sir Monday Uko, Commissioner for works, Mr. Ephraim Inyang, Mr. Akan Okon, Mr. Ime Uwah, Dr. Nathan Ekaette and Many others for their support to the Youth of Akwa Ibom State.
