On Health: Governor Bello Delivering On Change Agenda, Commissioner Reassures

The Niger State Commissioner for Heath and Health Services, Dr. Mustapha Muhammed Jibril has reassured Nigerlites that Alhaji (Dr.) Abubakar Sani Bello is gradually delivering on his campaign pledges and the All Progressive Congress, APC’s Change Agenda in the Health Sector of the State.

Dr. Mustapha gave the reassurance during the 2016 inauguration Dinner of the Nigerian Medical Association that was held at the African Hall, International Conference Centre, Abuja. He noted that, all hands are on deck to ensure that Mr. Governor’s Change agenda is felt positively while reminding the Health Practitioners of their collective major roles towards having a Healthy Nigeria.

In his address, the Host and President of Nigerian Medical Association, NMA, Prof. Mike Ozovehe Oririma, promised to work with the government to curb incessant strikes while ensuring that the welfare of medical practitioners is not toyed with.

He spoke further by assuring Nigerians that the Nigerian Medical Association, NMA, will continue to enhance awareness and access to quality health services especially to the less privilege Nigerians through conduct of Health missions/out-reaches and awareness campaigns as part of their Corporate Social Responsibility.

Speaking, the Chief Host and Hon. Minister of Health, Prof. Isaac Folorunso Adewole, charged Nigerians not to relent in their efforts and commitments to support the Buhari-led administration while reminding them of the Federal Government’s resoluteness and forthrightness to the advancement of Primary Health Care ; financial support to States that demonstrate good performance and operationalization of the National Health Act among others.

Guests at the event include ; His Excellency, Prof. Yemi Osinbajo, Vice President, Federal Republic of Nigeria as the Special Guest of Honour. The occasion was chaired by His Royal Highness, the Emir of Shonga, Dr. Haliru Yahaya. Co-Chief Hosts are; Dr. Chris Ngige, Hon. Minister of Labour and Employment, Dr. Osagie Ehanire, Hon. Minister of State for Health and Dr. Okechukwu Enelemah, Hon. Minister of Industry, Trade and Investment, Dr. Zarah Mairahmi, Chairperson Abuja Branch of Nigerian Medical Association to mention but a few.
