EYN President Happy With Borno Governor

The EYN Church President, Rev. Joel S. Billy, has aopreciated Governor Kashim Shettima of Borno State for living upto exoectations despite all threats and challenges from the boko haram insurgents.

Rev. Joel Billy appreciated the Governor when he paid a courtesy visit at the government house in Maiduguri pointing out that despite all odds his government was paying salaries promptly and taking care of the internally displaced persons(IDPs) within and outside the state.

He praised the governor for not being selective in the process of rebuilding the state and prayed for the quick return of peace to the state so that it can regain its lost glory as the " Home of Peace".

The EYN Church President urged Governor Kashim Shettima to work closely with the Military so that more efforts will be put into the rescue of the abducted Chibok school girls who might still be alive.

Rev. Billy also condoled Gover Kashim Shettima over the death of two elder statesmen, Alhaji Shettima Ali Monguno and Alhaji Garba Satomi who died recently in the state.

Responding the Governor thanked the EYN President for the visit and praised the Christian Community for remaining peaceful in the face of every provocation from the boko haram.

"If there is one organisation that should be commended for being peaceful, it is our Christian brothers who keot calm even when they were provoked and their Churches burnt by boko haram insurgents in the name of religion" he said.

He assured the EYN President that every section of the state will be treated equally in the reconstruction , rehabilitation and resettlement efforts of government.

Governor Kashim Shettima observed that some oeoole hide under the cloak of religion to commit evil pointing out that " if we are as religiuos as we claim to be then there shall be peace and harmony in the Country".
