The Country Representative of the Institute for Cultural Diplomacy, ICD, Mr. Dickson Omoregie has congratulated the successful candidates of the various political parties for the forth coming gubernatorial election in Edo state and advised them to make accomplishable campaign promises as well as see Edo state as a collective project rather than personal or family affair.

Speaking to news men in yesterday, Mr. Dickson Omoregie said that, Edo State which is known for its cultural values has to get it right and set standard for other states to emulate.

He also called on the youth not to indulge in acts of violence during and after the election as the time to leave their feet in the sands of time as youth is now and promised that Edo state will benefit from the scholarship opportunity to Nigerian youth by the Berlin- based Institute for Cultural Diplomacy ICD, which is in partnership with the Office of the Special Assistant to the President on Youth and Students matters as well as the Federal Ministry of Youth Development to study and work in Berlin, Germany.

While emphasizing that no position is worth the blood of any Edo indigene, Mr. Omoregie pleaded with religious and social organisation leaders to advise their followers not to be used by any political group to perpetrate violence or criminality.

Meanwhile Mr. Dickson Omoregie said arrangements have been concluded in Berlin, Germany for the forth coming Abuja International Conference to launch Youth Education and Development in Nigeria where some past three former Europeans Heads of State are expected to attend the conference, and promised that Edo state will feature prominently in the event.
