The governor of Anambra State, Chief Willie Obiano, has called on Muslim faithful and all Nigerians to imbibe the virtues of love, tolerance and harmony as advocated by the teachings of Prophet Mohammed to attain the nation’s quest for greater unity and brotherhood.

In a Special Message issued in Awka on Monday, Governor Obiano observed that the celebration of this year’s Eid-el Fitri offers Nigerians a chance to strengthen the bonds of national unity and build a prosperous country.

The Statement signed by James Eze, Senior Special Assistant to the governor on Media further pointed out that if Nigerians were to allow the teachings of the Holy prophet to guide their general conduct and interface with one another, most of the conflicts that had blighted the country in recent times would have been averted.

According to him, “Nigerians should love one another, show greater forbearance and demonstrate a deep fear of God in all their way. Those are the virtues that exalt a nation.”

The governor also exhorted Nigerian Muslims to continue to uphold Nigeria in their prayers, pointing out that prayer is the key to attract God’s blessings.
