Armed Robbery At Female Hostel In Ibbul

This is probably the third time in a year when thieves would invade Kobo female hostels for theft. It seems it has always gone unreported or measures have not yet been taken as another unfortunate raid occurred yesterday, 29th June, 2016 at the same scene or even extended.

Phones, laptops, money, and other properties worth thousands of naira were taken away without the notice of anyone, not even the security personnel charged with the responsibility of securing lives and properties of our students. Early hours of today, our female counterparts went on a massive protest to show their grievances.

This I see as a negative development in our institution as it has to get to protest before basic issues are addressed. To make it worse, the so called 'Hall Admin' made provocative statements that were coverage and audio unknowing to him. Some of the statements reads: 'it is because u are careless....who ask you to... and many others which I cant disclose here. It is unfortunate that he could utter such statements amidst the red eyes of the students.

Furthermore, the perpetrators must be brought to book ; the Hall Admin must send his apologies to all IBBULITES before the coverage get viral; and the security division must take up its responsibilities with full sense of diligence.

SUG should show its keen interest in investigating the issue before things get out of hand.
