Fire Disaster Accident In Lapai LGA Of Niger State

By Usman Mohammed

My heart was heavy and bleeds as I share the pains and loneliness associated with this cloudy period of the good people of Tabana's family of Malle Road in Lapai Local Government of Niger State over the sad and disheartening incident that damage and destroy properties wort millions of naira as a result of power outbreak (fire disaster) although no casualty was recorded. A good Friday that turns to be a great trial for Tabana's family and the good people of Lapai. My heart was heavy and bleeds as I witness a terrific and horrible fire disaster bed welling the family.

Usman, gathered that the fire was caused by the Power Holding Company of Nigeria (PHCN) when they restored power with a powerful output (current) that led to the fire outbreak incident that damage and destroy properties wort millions of naira despite no life was lost. This happened at exactly 10am last week Friday (17 June, 2016. It wasn't long ago that a similar sad incident happened in Maitumbi area of Bosso LGA, lives and properties worth millions of naira were lost.

The perambulating questions on people lips are; What causes this recurrent sad incidents which always leaves sour taste in the mouth? What is AEDC or PHCN is doing to prevent such sad incidents from reoccurring? How can we prevent in totality this power surge? Do AEDC in anyway pay compensation over the loss of lives and property?

It is high time that the right and appropriate authorities especially the federal, state and local governments as well as National and State Assemblies to delve into this prevailing incident as a matter of urgency to take right and appropriate actions that would curtail this incursion that is derailing our national development.

I call on the good people of Lapai elites and its environs both home and abroad and general public to come to their aide now. As you all know that history will never forget you if you help and history will never forgive you if you fail to help and remember that "he who give many gifts never lack hospitality when far away from home". May Allah give them the fortitude to bear this irreplaceable lost.
