A stakeholder of APC in the North Eastern region who has put in his all in the merger of the defunct legacy parties, conceptualization of the Party, and have invested heavily in making the party what is it today, the Pioneer National Vice Chairman North East, Dr Umar Duhu he is indeed a part in structuring the Party across Chapters and Branches of the ruling Party. With our correspondent in Yola, Tom Garba, he characterized the one year of Buhari's Administration as a year of fighting corruption.

1. What will you say about the one year of President Buhari?

President Buhari has done extremely well in some sectors of the economy, with particular reference to Security, Corruption fight, and International Relations. As a North Easterner ravaged by the Boko Haram insurgents, President Buhari is indeed God sent to us. In less than one year in office, Boko Haram is completely degraded, and the moping up exercise ongoing by the Men of the Military is almost coming to an end. My expectation of the populist is remain grateful to God The Almighty for making it possible for us to have a zealous President who calls a spade a spade in terms of security and integrity.

On the ongoing corruption fight; I hold that, Mr. President has to do more as corruption has eaten deeper than expected and is still being perpetrated in the land. Except Mr. President and his extended family members begins to live an exemplary lifestyle and above board, it is absolutely difficult for some persons to stop stealing public funds or continue perpetrating corrupt practices. Nigerians are indeed watching and unless Mr. President deliberately allows for a free flow channel of communication and completely elimination any stop gap, to allow Wessel blowers volunteer useful information, our President will never know it all about corruption and how it is being perpetrated in the land. The common man who hardly provides Two square meal for his family, sees the high profile live style of those in government and the political actors. On this note, President Buhari must do more to win totally the accolade of all Nigerians, and to as well thinker bridging the gap between the upper-upper and the lower-lower class.

2. President Buhari has made several appointments in the last one year, why have you not been appointed despite your enormous contributions to the formation and growth of APC?

Is true Mr. President has made several appointments in the past one year. As a leader who has put in my all in the merger of the defunct legacy parties, conceptualization of the Party, and have invested heavily in my capacity as the Pioneer National Vice Chairman North East, to structuring of the Party across Chapters and Branches. I will be very surprised that, Mr. President has not yet found me deserving of any appointment, while does who rather contributed heavily to see to the downfall of APC at the 2015 general elections, have now found their ways into his government.

It is instructive to state here that, the APC was formed on a Tripods. The defunct ACN, ANPP and the CPC. The APGA faction and the New PDP joined after APC was registered which made the APC more formidable. If today anyone will think that, none of these Five forces that formed and solidified APC is irrelevant, that person must be a centennial joker and is indeed a day dreamer.

President Buhari is the father of the Nation and Leader of the APC. Mr. President can not govern Nigeria effectively without justice and fairness. I believe Mr. President is feeling the pulse of his Party Members, and taking note all these observations, with the view to streamlining them accordingly.

As a strong believer in the Will of God The Almighty, I am of the conviction that, what will be will definitely be. If I have what is meant for me in President Buhari Government, it will certainly come to me, no matter how long it may take.

3. Has the President applied the Federal character principle in the appointments made so far?

President Buhari is not new to governance. He has held several command structures in the Nigeria Army. He as former Governor of the present Six States of the North East, former Minister of Petroleum, former Head of State, and the former Executive Chairman Petroleum Tax Fund. I am confident, all the appointments he has made so far, was guided by the extent laws guiding appointments. On a lighter note; I like to advise that, Mr. President further polarizes the appointments that will be made to capture all interest groups and our diversity as a Nation.

4. What is your call to Nigerians?
I call on all Nigerians to continually pray for our leader to be Men and Women of virtues and administer over us with justice and fairness. We must remain our brothers keepers, law abiding and eschew violence. Indeed, Nigeria is the only Great Country we have and call our own. Like in the words of President Buhari; 'we have no other country but Nigeria, lets stay and salvage it together'.
