Mr. President Sir,
It is our nation’ democracy day and as a nation we cant but celebrate the freedom we got from military dictatorship about 17 years ago. Just like yesterday, May 29, 2015 became engraved in the national chronicles; it was the day that Nigerians felt a great ease whilst anticipating better governance and assurance of glorious days. The feeling that the much proclaimed progressive, proactive and disciplined visionary leader would assume the helms of affairs was a soothing one and we thought that we were in for a good time

That the awaited messiah was here
That our fears were all gone and it was time we bade terrorism and insurgency farewell

That our education would be revamped and our schools would be ground for grooming inventors, capacity building and intellectual development

That our economy would bloom and we would become the preferred destination for foreign investors and developers from all around the world

That our youths and graduates would be productively engaged and empowered for national and international impact

That we would awaken the sleeping giant in us and arise from our slumber to become the giant of Africa that we proclaimed to be

That we would have a vibrant and diversified economy and stop depending majorly on our downstream

That our farmers would be equipped, educated so that we can stop importing the consumables

That technologically, we would stop relying on China and Japan for the things we can produce in our backyard

That our hospitals would be revamped, well equipped, so that we wont have any cause to travel abroad for medical treatment

That our pensioners would live happily and the aged would be rehabilitated and well taken care of

That our teachers and lecturers would be well motivated and well paid

That our roads would stop being death traps and our railways become functional

That power would be at all time high with stable electricity to boast our economy and help our industries to perform optimally

Those were our thoughts and so we voted you into office so you can bring us the promised change. Instead of all these, things plummeted into untold hardship and Nigerians are suffering. Mr. President, where is the change we voted for? Where is the change you promised us?

To say I am disappointed in the first year of your administration is an understatement. I thought you have the willpower and political antecedence to bring the change we needed in this country. But this past one year showed that you are highly incapable in the realms of national governance and administration which means Nigerians should expect nothing fantastic from your administration except a miracle happen and of course, miracles do happen. You want to proof us wrong? You have the next three years to show your worth and display your substance. Nigerians are tired of waiting for the change we voted for.
