Mother of three abducted by Boko Haram, sent to bomb Kano textile market, escape.

A woman has narrated how she was kidnapped by suspected Boko Haram militants, stripped and strapped with explosives, and asked to bomb a popular textile market in Kano.

The Kano State Police commissioner, Abbati Maigari Dikko, this evening brought mother-of-three Khadija Ibrahim before Governor Abdullahi Umar Ganduje, after she escaped her captors who planned on using her as a suicide bomber.

Police said she was caught with a suicide belt and that the target was to be Kano’s Kantin Kwari textile market.

Ms. Khadija told police that she was abducted at a bus stop in Maiduguri on her way to hospital.

She narrated how she was stopped and given a lift by people who claimed to be helping her.

Khadija said she lost her consciousness afterwards, and only later realised she was in Kano when she overhead her abductors discussing about injecting her.

According the woman, the kidnappers stripped her of clothes, and strapped the belt on her while she was unconscious. When she regained consciousness, the men told her to attack Kantin Kwari textile market as her work for God.

She escaped after the car they were in developed fault.
