In times like these when you have problems or you need help, you think not only of God and Government but also Google,Family , Friends and Fools. Times were when it is said when people talked about Before Christ(B.C) now it is “Before Connectivity”.
How did we survive before the age of internet connectivity or even mobile connectivity?. And now for people it is said we no longer say .”After the Death of Christ.” A.D. it is now After Digital(A.D.) After Digital Electronics what next?
Ooni of Ife and the great Universities.
I hope the staff and student s of the Obafemi Awolowo University do not feel offended that the Palace at Ife has chosen the dates of two Great Universities aside from Ife for the Coronation of Ooni Ogunwusi and also his marriage.Coronation of Ooni Ogunwusi was on December 7 2015 the anniversary of the founding of the world”s largest Catholic University, Catholica in Italy seat of the Pope which is interesting because the Ooni is supposed to be the Black Pope or the Pope of the Yoruba”s.As if that is not enough.The Ooni got married on March 13.Harvard University received its official Famous name on March 13 1639. Balogun of Ife: Clarification
I read in the Vanguard of Feburary 22 2016 a write up titled the place of oramiyan in the history of Ile ife by Balogun Bisi Omidiora, the Balogun of Ife. reference to me by the very esteemd Balogun of Ife.He cited my write up titled IBADAN,OLUYOLE AND WASHINGTON in the British Communication Magazine. Actually when I stated that” Where it not for the Ibadan People,the Official language of the Yorubas would have been Hausa Fulani”, it was not my original thought. I was only echoing the Yoruba words of Aare Arisekola Alao, now Late, a prominent indigene of Ibadanland
Interestingly Feburary 22 the date of publication of the write up is the anniversary of the birth of General George Washingtom the first president of the United states.Coincidentally whilst not being an important person, that same day I was featured in the Waltham Forest News here in London!
Electric Power: Bola Ige and Atinuke Ige: Uncanny coincidences I was just reading an Article in the Vanguard of April 11 2016 with the title IF THERE IS POWER PEOPLE WOULD ENJOY.It featured Adebisi Kuforiji of Hindle Plastics, one of my former course mates at the University of Ife now Obafemi Awolowo University. She failed her first test of PHY 102 devoted to Electricity and Magnetism. Actually only three of us passed out of about 1,500 who sat for the test. It was my first and last time being at the top of the faculty.
I was a truant. Or if you like . I STABBED MY LECTURES . Bola Ige ex minister of power was called to the Bar in London”s inner temple 55 years ago on April 11 1961.So it was a good time to talk about power. Bola Ige”s wife Atinuke was born April 4 1932, exactly 50 years after the death of the mother to Nikola Tesla,Duka Tesla.Duka Tesla died April 4 1882.
Nikola Tesla has been described as the genius who lit the world and also as the Father of the 20th because of his contributions to the generation, transmission , distribution and utilisation of Electricity and I am the secretary(Nigeria) Tesla Society ( New York) ( www.teslasociety.com). I also started the Bola Ige society on Facebook.Now defunct.
