Pakistan To Assist Federal Republic Of Nigeria In Agricultural Sector To Save Foreign Exchange And Pull Many Out Of Poverty—Ambassador Dauda Danladi, MNI

The Top Executives from Four Brothers Group of Companies from Pakistan Provincial Capital, Lahore recently visited Federal Republic of Nigeria and held very productive meeting with Nigerian Agricultural Federal Minister, Dr. Audi Ogbe and other important officials of the Nigerian Federal Ministry of Agriculture & Rural Development (FMARD) to provide excellent quality and high productivity through advance technology in Agriculture Sector which is the top priority of Nigerian President, Muhammadu Buhari to diversify National Economy and end injustice of hunger for Nigerians through substantial food security programme.

The recent visit of top Executives of Four Brothers Group of Companies from Pakistan was arranged and facilitated by former Nigerian High Commissioner to Pakistan, Ambassador Dauda Danladi, mni.

Nigerian Agricultural Federal Minister, Dr. Audio Ogbe thanked Ambassador Dauda Danladi, mni and the visiting Four Brothers team and appreciated their keen interest to grow more crops in Nigeria through substantial investments in Nigerian Agricultural Development.

Nigerian Agricultural Federal Minister, Dr. Audio Ogbe informed the visiting Four Brothers Delegates that the Administration of Nigerian President, Muhammadu Buhari is determined to make Nigeria self-sufficient in maize, rice, corn, millets, fruits and poultry products by mobilizing the private sector to support State Government Agricultural Programmes.

He further added that Nigerians will not be discouraged or disillusioned for the Agricultural Recovery of Federal Republic of Nigeria as the Federal Agricultural Ministry of Nigeria is working on war footing basis to trigger Agricultural Growth that will lift millions out of poverty.

Former Nigerian High Commissioner to Pakistan, Ambassador Dauda Danladi, mni said Federal Republic of Nigeria must strive now to attain self-sufficiency in food products besides initiating revolutionary steps in rice production and wheat farming in the shortest possible time as Federal Republic of Nigeria has the potential to be the breadbasket of West Africa and Nigerian Government can save foreign exchange and pull many out of poverty.

In the past few years, on the average, Federal Republic of Nigeria has spent in excess of 11 billion US Dollars annually importing wheat, rice, sugar and fish.

In addition the Four Brothers Group were also in Sokoto State and had meetings with the state officials and other stake holders towards the introduction of improved crops seedling, rice ,wheat , cotton and maize production.

A joint venture between the Sokoto State Government and Four Brothers Group to cultivate huge acres of farmland is under way.
