NCC takes 8-point agenda campaign to Kano

The Nigerian Communications Commission (NCC) took the sensitization campaign on its eight-point agenda on telecommunications to Kano State.

The agenda, according to the commission’s Executive Vice Chairman, Professor Umar Garba Danbatta, is to be achieved within five years.

Garba told journalists that the eight-point agenda was aimed at enhancing the growth of Information Communication Technology (ICT) in the country.

Pillars of the agenda include quality service, broadband penetration & protection and empowerment of consumers, fair competition in ICT services and effective regulation for operational efficiency.

The policy goals of the NCC had recognized the immense socio-economic importance of ICT to national development, hence we have resolved to utilize them for effective service delivery and accessibility, he said.
