In the Name of God, the Compassionate, the Merciful

The insurgency in the North East Region of Nigeria has led to the displacement of several persons from their different homes and most of them are now taking shelters in the various IDPs Centres sited in some parts of Nigeria.

These Internally displaced persons (IDPs) are facing hunger, affliction of various illnesses due to inadequate medical care and exposure to inclement weather arising from the makeshift accommodation they have in their camps and as such require assistance to feed and take care of themselves in their IDPs Centres/camps.

MPAC and NAZAS share the common vision of working towards addressing the welfare issues of these internally displaced persons (IDPs) through intervention initiatives that will project the beauty of what is possible when Muslim organizations work together with shared values and commitment on humanitarian and social projects.

Towards achieving the above vision, MPAC and NAZAS are signing a memorandum of understanding today (29/1/16) to kick start the IDPs intervention project of providing aids and relief materials to the displaced persons.

The materials to be distributed at the camps include but not limited to the following:

· Clothing items
· Footwears
· Sanitary and toiletry items
· Household items
· Toys
· Books
· Medicals

Thank you.
