The story of about the new law in Eritrea compelling men to take two wifes of face jail term has elicited global reaction, with an Indian online publication Indiatoday showing pictures of men besieging Eritrean borders to take advantage of the new law. Pictures of young Eritrean women show that the country boasts very pretty ladies, which many men would wish to ‘marry.

The story published Wednesday and edited by Sanjana Agnihotri  reads,

In State of Eritrea, a country in the Horn of Africa, a new marital law compels men to marry two women.

Yes, polygamy is mandatory.
(We see that smirk on your face!)
Eritrean government has allegedly posted a memo saying any man or woman who contested this law will go behind bars. The post is said to have explained the law by saying the country is experiencing shortage of men.

So, every man has to marry two women and the one who refuses will be prisoned for life with hard labour.

“The woman who tries to prevent her husband from marrying another wife shall be punished to life imprisonment,” says the translation of the memo posted by the Eritrean government.

Social media greeted this law with some humour
