Obiano Flags Off Construction Of 300-Plotsobinwanne Estate In Enugu Agidi

The Governor of Anambra State, Chief Willie Obiano has flagged off construction work on Obinwanne Housing Estate in Enugu Agidi in Njikoka Local Government Area of Anambra State.

The estate is part of the efforts by the Obiano administration to explore the key Enablers of its economic blueprint among which is the provision of affordable housing for Ndi Anambra.

Inaugurating the housing project, Tuesday, Governor Obiano expressed optimism that the estate would not only significantly boost the state’s current capacity in the housing sector but also encourage private sector developers and equity investors in the housing industry to move in and help transform the state with modern real estate initiatives.

He called on wise investors and wealthy indigenes of the state from across the world to think home and take up precious bits of real estate in the Obianwanne Housing project.

Governor Obiano assured that his administration was determined to equip the estate with the necessary amenities including perimeter fencing and everything else that a modern housing estate should have.

Earlier in his welcome remarks, the Commissioner for Housing and Urban Development, Engr. Frank Offor had observed that the Obiano administration had demonstrated an admirable resolve to meet the housing needs of Ndi Anambra.

According to him, Governor Obiano’s efforts to provide affordable housing for Ndi Anambra were in agreement with the people-centred approach of the administration which places the people first in all considerations. He thanked the Governor for his commitment to ensuring that the state takes on some of the niggling challenges of under-development as is reflected in the shortage of affordable houses.

Also speaking, the Commissioner for Lands, Mrs Stella Onuorah explained that Obianwanne Housing Estate would sit on over 300 plots of land which would be handled by the Anambra State Housing Corporation and called on the people to seize the opportunity and step out to own their own houses on a choice location.

Speaking in a similar vein, the chairman of Anambra State Housing CorporationChief Godson Ezenagu assured that the choice of location for the estate was well made sincethe land was a table land suitable for such projects and thanked Governor Obianofor the initiative.

Governor Obiano later performed a symbolic clearing ofthe land.
