My Experiencing, My Character, My Life, My World: The Story of An IDP Woman From Cameroon
" I can't that fateful Thursday evening in Gambarun Gala,my village in Bama Local Government Area of Barno state, Nigeria. I was sitting down me and six my children preparing the to set up for market to sell fish caught by my husband all of a sudden I hard people are crying and quelling with a very serious undesired sound, before I realised I notice plenty men bashed into our House, speaking my own tribe (Kanuri) with all types of arms in their own hands and forcing us out, in the process my husband asked why?
That was where they beat him up,tied him and slaughtered him like a ram, my husband struggling and dying shouting my name while I cannot help (she boosted into tears), they children cannot help, none of us there can help. That was the beginning of my trouble and my hell experiencing while on earth. I was thinking the world just ended not until I found myself in this place called Yola, (she cannot figure out she is in Nigeria) after spending months Cameron as we escaped from the hands of our abductors".
That was the story of Rakiya Bana ,a returnee woman from the public of Cameroon.
Rakiya unlike many other women who found peace as the finally returned home (Nigeria) but was spotted crying, looking so worried in one of the tents in Fofure Internal displaced camp in Yola, on getting closer to her she cried the more and began to narrate her odeal through an interpreter,from her local kanuri language to Hausa.
According to her life become more meaningless and useless the very first day I saw how her husband's blood was gushing out as an ordinary chicken or ram, life turned her a fugitive and beggar in a strange land." I will never forgive who bring this Boko Haram in village". She more
My life in Cameroon is a life of disgrace, all the people of that area are not human,no sense of humor, their attitude is symbolizes with wickedness. They always want to subject us in total slavery, any little crime been done in Marwa will be Chanel to any Nigeria refugee staying there. They don't have simple courtesy at all.
They arrest us without reason, as I'm talking to you
My first son was arrested simply because is a Nigerian, if not why should they arrest some one who is on the run, they have jailed my Son because he do not have travelling documents. Please how can we have travelling documents? In this kind of situation? In fact we don't even know what they are talking about. "Please help me let them release my Son is not a Boko Haram". As she cried the more.
" Let's me be frank with you my experienced of how life is meaningless in Cameroon has made me developed a thick heart, I heard that cannot forgive any person from Cameroon. You need to see how these people had humiliated us with all forms of dead threads as we are bought slaves".
The lamentations of Rakiya was scaring and she can opt for revenge at any slightest opportunity.Her narrati and mind blowing owing as she further said some Cameron are even raping their daughters. She pray they did not contact any sexually transmitted sicknesses (STIs).
"Finally realised my world is nothing but upside down against me, I understood my Muslim Brothers (Boko Haram ) are my enemies, if only they know what they Subjected us into in fact is revenge that can camp me down " she bursted into tears
The visit of the secretary General of the Human Rights commission ,Prof Bem Angwe in Fofure and Malkohi IDPs camp where thousands of them are mostly from Barno state it indicated that majority of them are women and children within school age that some were caught out from school since the beginning of the Boko Haram attacks while some have never been to school lamented the fault of the parents that refused taken him to school.
Angwe assures them of talking the government of immediate resettlement to their original homes.
At the Fofure transient camp where it's housing more than 3,000 temporary IDPs with the hope of bringing upto 7,000 of them from the republican of Cameroon, one will ask about their well being in terms food, recreational facilities, hospital, toiletries and clothing as so many of them are looking battard,haggard and need serious attention.
