When Buhari Arrests You Too Your Case Will Be Special

A mother has been denied talking to her only remaining surviving son for almost a month. In response, Buhari's Attorney General of the Federation and the Minister of Justice, Mr. Abubakar Malami asked the Supreme Council on Islamic Affairs led by the Sultan of Sokoto to write a "formal plea" begging the administration for her 3-weeks past due constitutional right to court charges, visitation and an attorney. We are referring to Mrs Zakaky who just lost three more of her sons in addition to three previously killed under the Jonathan administration.

For all victims of the December 12-13th "pogrom" the Attorney General said, "their case is special."

Duplicate that same story for alleged corrupt crook Sambo Dasuki. We all heard Buhari say his case was "special." Then replicate again for Radio Biafra's separatist leader, Nwanneyaenyi OkwuKanu. When the Buhari administration bungled his case and did not file the appropriate charges on-time, thus permitting him to be granted bail, Buhari likewise responded during his media chat that "his treasonous case is special."

According to the Islamic movement of Nigeria, IMN, there are as many as 700 students, parents, brothers and sisters and others who have been detained illegally, denied medical attention, 48 hours court charges, attorney rights and visitation rights because "their cases are special" as Buhari and his Attorney General put it. We are not even allowed to know who is dead or alive and the Attorney General does not feel it is his sworn responsibility to aright this wrong but tells us to come begging.

The cases are all different and keep piling one on the other but the formula is simple and mirrored: any and every case is "special."

So my dear reader, I pray you are not arrested because you happened to run into a building on Sokoto road in Zaria when you heard the army shooting at stick and stone wielding protesting youth. Because if you were one of those who ran into the building to seek refuge that day and you escaped being killed by the bent-on-teaching-the-people-and-their-friends-a-lesson blood thirsty soldiers under Lt. general T.Y. Buratai's command, and were "only" arrested; you will be denied your rights because "your case will be special."

I hope and pray for you that you never are arrested for perhaps giving bribe to a police officer or any other common offense. Because if you are arrested under he present administration "your case may be special."

God bless Nigeria. May Your Will come to pass and make our nation desperate for change reap the fruits of GOOD unadulterated change.
