Hon. James Abiodun Faleke, the running mate to late Prince Abubakar Audu, The All Progressives Congress (APC) candidate in the inconclusive November 21 Governorship poll has rejected the offer to be running mate to Alhaji Yahaya Bello, the party’s new governorship candidate for the supplementary election scheduled for December 5.

He Disclosed this to the journalist on tuesday shortly after the meeting with the Leaders of the All Progressive Congress (APC) in Abuja.

He said "However, we met for two hours as you have observed and of course we discovered that the meeting we were invited for was just a mare briefing rather than being the meeting that deliberated and solved the problem in Kogi".

"The party told us that they have nominated Alhaji Yahaya bello, and we made it very clear as a political family of Prince Abubakar Audu, we told them that is not acceptable and we are not doing it".

Faleke said that Alhaji Yahaya Bello did not take part in all our campaign process.

"And I personally observe and noted that my name is that has been submitted to Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC), as a Deputy to pair with Alhaji Yahaya Bello and I told the National Chairman that he has sent a letter this morning distancing himself from that decision".

"On no ground will I want to be associated with the party"s decision and pair with Alhaji Yahaya Bello".

"I equally told the Chairman that for us as a APC Family in kogi state, we are not taking part in the election. My name can not be submitted because I was not even consulted in the first place and the Governor Elect can not become another Deputy Governorship candidate".

Faleke noted that the party is only contesting election in 91 pulling units out of about 2548 units. " I have pulled out of the election and if they go ahead and conduct the election, it would will be null and voild, and the election will be challenged in the court of law".

"If the party have choosen the part of honour, it will be factored in and challenged. INEC and the Chairman told us that the party is not going to court and if the party is not going to court, we have taken it upon ourself, to defend ourselves in court".

The substitute for the late Prince Abubakar, Alhaji Yahaya Bello said that he has been chosen by the party as a replacement to late Prince Abubakar Audu.

He said that it is the decision of the party and thanked the media for their cooperation.
