The wife of the governor of Anambra State, Chief (Mrs.) Ebelechukwu Obiano has condoled with the Catholic Women Organization of St. Gregory’s Catholic Church, Nnanka in Aguata Local Government Area of Anambra State, on the death of 14 members of the organization in an auto accident over the weekend.

In a message to the organization and St. Gregory Catholic Parish Nnanka, the wife of the governor said that she received the shocking news while attending a Women Entrepreneurship Forum. According to her, “I am stunned at the loss of these women of virtue at a time when we needed all the hands to join in the mobilization of our womenfolk to develop our state.

...This accident is indeed very sad. It is even more shocking that they were returning from a condolence visit to another member of the organization, an act which confirms their dedication to the service of humanity, the church and the community.”

Offering words of encouragement and to the families and friends of the deceased, Mrs. Obiano, who is the founder and promoter of Caring Family Enhancement Initiative (CAFÉ), an NGO dedicated uplifting and empowerment of women and indigent widows as well as the welfare of the physically challenged amongst other programmes, noted that the women would be sorely missed, and prayed that God grant them external rest.
