Fresh facts have emerged on how the national leadership of the ruling All Progressives Party plotted to unseat and takeover major states in the oil rich south –south region.

The affected states Akwa Ibom, Rivers and Bayelsa state where targets of high level judicial, security and political manipulations that were to destabilize, upturn or unseat the incumbent PDP governors.

A leaked secret document titled APC Political Penetration Drive, South South / North Central Penetration Plan, showed that APC was having sleepless nights, trying to upstage the PDP the three south south states as well as Kogi State.

A secret strategy document dated August 2015, allegedly authored by the APC Think tank committee, indicates that Akwa Ibom was considered too strong politically with PDP, that it was considered impracticable to totally nullify the entire elections.

For Rivers state, it was recommended that the election should be outrightly cancelled in addition to the cancellation of at least 20 House of Assembly seats won by the PDP in that state.

The strategy reads in part that, “in view of the strength of PDP in Akwa Ibom State, the nullification of a substantial part of the election in majority of the local government areas should be pursued.”

It was also recommended that the committee after the re-run should ensure that key brokers of the PDP are not allowed to participate in the process to guarantee the success of the APC.

The document which recommendations are nearly fully becoming reality also wanted “a critical look at the management of the NDDC, to ensure it doesn't throw its weight behind the PDP.”

It was also the intention of the APC think tank that the state INEC commissioner be replaced while advocating for deployment

of electoral officers and senior presiding officers from the

affected states.
Another issue that was recommended by the secret document was the immediate removal of the commissioner of police and replacement of DSS Director in the State.

So far, the recommendations have been effected and it is left to be seen how much more the ruling party will execute the evil plan.

However reacting to this, the Akwa Ibom state chairman of the PDP Obong Paul Ekpo said the mandate given to Governor Emmanuel by the people of the State remains unshakable and expressed confidence that the Nigerian judiciary will remain a perfect last resort of the common man.
