Throughout history, there had been several instances where mere mortals embarked on the futile attempt of arrogating themselves the power of the Almighty God. But like all 'constants, there abounds cases where such characters are brought to their kneels in grief, and in the bitter end, they are ultimately subdued in order to recognise and respect the unquestionable force called God.

From the biblical story of Nebuchadnezzar the Proud, to the tyrannical Adolf Hitler of the second world war era, or even the infamous Ugandan Idi Amin, and the Nigerian Dictator Sani Abacha, et al, we are always reminded of the place of terrestrial beings in the cosmological order of the universe. It is as certain as the sun, that no human being who attempts to twist the arm of destiny, will go scot-free.

Welcome to our oil rich Rivers State. Here, there is a particular set of people who believe too much in materialism and egoistic ventures. These men and women have lost the resistance to the magnetic pull of worldly possessions. To them, money can buy just about anything and everything, even the inalienable rights of free citizens of Nigeria is put up for bid. The right to vote, was pitifully reduced to a one sided mortgage.

For so many years, the people of Rivers State, have not tasted the sweetness of true democracy, rather, they were held hostage by a band of power hungry politicians: it's either they procure your will through their mercantile tactics, or you are rashly cajoled into casting your vote for them: it is either you are 100% for them, or they will ensure that you are completely bullied away from the polling booth at all costs. Such was the case in those days.

The April 11, 2015, Governorship election that brought Barr. Nyesom Wike into power in Rivers State, is most likely the worst form of electoral brigandage in the history of the world. Need I recount the shocking number of innocent voters that were massacred in brought day light? Or should I name the countless properties that were damaged by the boys of a man who challenged God? Or is there still a doubt about the number of voters who were disenfranchised on that fateful day? Are they not too sizable to ignore? No need. The creator of the Universe, has done justice to the matter, via the solid ruling of the Rivers State Elections Petitions Tribunal.

The Tribunal affirmed the widely acclaimed position of both International and Local Observers that the Rivers State Gubernatorial Election is a mockery of democracy, and that Barr. Nyesom Wike was not validly elected . The whole essence of democracy is that the people must be allowed to express themselves in their own way. There is absolutely nothing wrong if the people of Rivers State have decided to join the rest of Nigeria in the movement of 'change. Therefore, no man should be allowed to imprison the minds of our people. A free people should be allowed to think and act freely.

Like they say, "the voice of the people is the voice of God," and so that man who tried to shut our voice by denying us the opportunity to freely cast our votes, thereby stealing our mandate, was simply playing God. Let it be known that there is no probability in the consequences that awaits that very son of man whose hobby and greatest desire is to play God: the punishment for trying to overthrow the Almighty, is a nightmare that should never be.
