BREAKING: Corruption: Nigerian Billionaire, Jide Omokore Arrested

BEVERLY HILLS, October 06, (THEWILL) – Mr. Jide Omokore, the billionaire oil tycoon and a major player in the oil and gas sector during the Goodluck Jonathan administration has been arrested by officials of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) for questioning over corruption and money laundering charges.

An official at the EFCC, who asked not to be named told news agency Reuters that Omokore, who is co-chairman of Atlantic Energy, was being investigated in connection with a crackdown on corruption in the oil sector that has swept up former oil minister Diezani Alison-Madueke, who was arrested last week in London.

Four other persons were briefly detained alongside Deziani in London.
