Save Aba Now!

Since advent of democracy in 1999 Abia State has remained a state of steady backwardness and things have actually gone from bad to worse. The projects of Sam Mbakwe could not be sustained and nothing seem to work well in the state. Now with the deplorable state of roads in Aba which is the commercial town has impoverished the residents in the great Enyimba city and subjected them to total hardship.

Roads constructed are shabbily done and fell apart barely after few months of construction and Sam Mbakwe constructed roads weren’t maintained and the major roads linking Aba are not passable as it stand now and Aba has only one entrance and exit road which is Aba-Owerri road. Roads like Uratta, faulks road and Portharcourt road are deplorable and has made mobility a difficult task and has yielded to a hike in transport fares and Aba that is known as the commercial hub of the nation is a shadow of itself now.

Businesses has been ran aground because major buyers from other states of the nation has opted for alternatives instead of coming to Aba for purchases of goods and services. Most business men and women have relocated to other states and those remaining have zeroed their minds that one day it shall be well but with the current state of these roads devastating daily, Federal Government should intervene in Abia state case and give the Abians a sign of new breath because Aba residents are indeed suffering and we anticipated this long awaited change as prophesied by many people and thank God that the change finally came. President Muhammadu Buhari in his good heart for the nation should send delegates to Abia State especially Aba axis to go and see how deplorable the roads are and see the amount of sufferings that Abians are subjected to.

Aba deeply needs Federal Government intervention to alleviate the suffering of Nigerians residing in Abia state especially in Aba, the roles Aba played in the history of this country cannot be undermined or overruled. With this administration that has zero tolerance to corruption every roads awarded must be delivered as specified in the contract agreement, Federal government, Abians are at your mercies especially Aba residents. Movement in Aba is that of tilling the desert for water which is a difficult task. We are crying to a man who is on a rescue mission of sanitizing the entire sector of the economy and to hear our cry and urgently responds to remedy bad roads in Abia State.

So many governments has come and gone but we are confident that this administration is the people’s administration, so we are hopeful that this government will put smiles on all Nigerians. We voted for this change and this change is already speaking for the benefit of mankind. Abians are counting on this present administration for a better life and we are sure that we will get that. I’m appealing to President Muhammadu Buhari to save the great Enyimba city called Aba and return the lost glory of the city.
