The Perplexity In Demand For Conditional Trial By A Confessed Thief

News reaching us from foreign lands indicate that Mrs Diezani Allison-Madueke, the immediate past petroleum minister under the administration of Goodluck Ebele Jonathan, has been arrested in London. Her international passport was equally seized so she may not "vamoose" like Diepreye Alamesiegha (Alams)!

Someone just suggested on a TV programme that the Brits must "shine their eyes well well" this time around...and not rely solely on experience gathered on Alams' disguise artistry as he wore a wig, "made up" his face the way of ladies and completed the picture with a stuffed bra!

His act was so effective he slipped like a bush rat through the hands of British security! Trust Nigerians to be so brimming with exceptional talents...just that talents negatively applied can never bring honour to its owner!

For persons who oppose the positive change in the land, there is somethng rather unintelligent in asking the government not to probe"you" as a thief unless it is ready to probe other thieves. Such rationalisations rather soil the ear...It is extremely annoying and rather strange for a confessed thief to demand that he can only be tried and punished for stealing only if fellow thieves are tried. For a thief already apprehended for his deeds is in no position to dictate!

And what lends credence to his implied confession to his crime is his repeated demands that if he must be tried, other thieves must also be tried!

Why don't "they" accuse the British government of"selective" probes or persecution for trying James Ibori and bracing up to try Diezani?

Shamefully enough, there are indications that our legislators are sheming to pass a bill to confer on them lifelong immunity against prosecution for theft of public funds! They are reported to be planning to override the presidential veto to make this law. Hmmmm...

Living up to their names as legislooters...
What a bunch of committed thieves!
