SAN FRANCISCO, September 28, (THEWILL) – The Bayelsa State governorship primary of the All Progressives Congress (APC) will be conducted again, the National Working Committee (NWC) of the ruling All Progressives Party (APC) ordered Monday.

The party said the last week's botched exercise failed to meet the party's guideline and subsequently fixed next Tuesday for a new primary.

Timipre Sylva, a former governor of the state and aspirant is claiming that he won the primary and has rejected moves to cancel the exercise.

Chief John Odigie-Oyegun, the National Chairman of the party, who spoke to journalists during a briefing after the NWC meeting at the APC national secretariat, said Tuesday's primary would hold in Yenagoa, the Bayelsa State capital.

The Chairman was in the company of other top NWC members when he addressed the press.
