AK PDP Boss Blasts Lai Mohammed; Says Mind Your Business

By Akwa Ibom State Divine Mandate

The attention of the Akwa Ibom State Chapter of the Peoples Democratic Party has been drawn to a Press Conference addressed by the Publicity Secretary of the All Progressives Congress, APC, Alhaji Lai Mohammed, during which he faulted the recent solidarity visit of the National leadership of the PDP to Akwa Ibom State.

During the said press conference, Alhaji Mohammed, well known for his garrulous and characteristic loose-tongue, also delved into the Akwa Ibom Governorship Elections petition, by making unfounded and baseless statements, in a flagrant display of arrogance, in a matter which is subjudice.

Whereas, the Akwa Ibom PDP would have preferred to ignore the rantings of the APC spokesman as he has established notoriety for babbling, we have decided to make this rejoinder so that the unsuspecting members of the public are not misinformed or deceived, especially in this season which the APC engages in distorting and twisting facts to cause sheer mischief and score cheap political points.

It therefore becomes pertinent to raise some fundamental issues of concern arising from this unwarranted intrusion by Alhaji Mohammed as follows:

I. When did Alhaji Lai Mohammed assume the role of spokesperson for the DSS, making him the authentic voice to justify the primitive violation of the sanctity of the Akwa Ibom State Government House?

II. Is this justification of the DSS invasion by Alhaji Mohammed a vindication of the PDP's suspicion that, the APC is behind the plot to effect a political hounding in Akwa Ibom state?

III. Is it not ironical that a character like Alhaji Lai Mohammed whose stock-in-trade is the concoction of mischief, falsehood and subverting the truth, can come out and accuse the Independent National Electoral Commission of ‘turning truth on the head,” on the outcome of the Governorship election which was resoundingly won by our great party?

IV. Is it not worrisome to every right thinking Nigerian that, Alhaji Lai Mohammed should undertake a media trial of INEC officials who conducted the Akwa Ibom Governorship elections, indicting them in a matter that is yet to be determined by the Elections Petition Tribunal or any court of competent jurisdiction?

V. How can a party that applauded an electoral umpire for conducting credible Presidential and governorship elections in the states that it claimed victory, now turn around to cry wolf against the same umpire, for the simple reason that the PDP won in Akwa Ibom State?

VI. How come the APC has arrogated to herself the rights of being the arbiter in a case she is the petitioner and dare to make such wild and unguarded claims in a press conference?

We wish to restate categorically that in Akwa Ibom State, the PDP is a tradition and that was evident in her massive victory during the last general elections.

Our people are still expecting the DSS to explain their mission to the seat of the state government, and except Lai Mohammed wants to arrogate power to himself as DSS spokesman, he should know when to mind his own business, stick to the role his office permits and desist from his rude intrusion into the affairs of Akwa Ibom State and the PDP.

The PDP therefore condemns in very strong terms the unbecoming loquacity of Alhaji Mohammed and hereby warns him to desist from intruding into the affairs of the Akwa Ibom State Government and the PDP which he knows little or nothing about, and has absolutely no business whatsoever.

We wish to express absolute confidence in the leadership of His Excellency Governor Udom Emmanuel and commend him for the accomplishments so far recorded, and we call on well-meaning Nigerians to continue to support the Governor, especially in his quest to industrialize the state, create wealth and expand infrastructure for the benefit of the people.

Finally, we thank our members and teaming supporters for their loyalty and commitment to the State Government and enjoin them to remain steadfast as the PDP remains a strong, undaunted and united political family in the state.

Long Live the PDP!
Long Live Akwa Ibom State!!
Signed:
Obong Paul Ekpo
