High Chief Emma Okolo Samuel (The Onolene Of Edo State Community Bauchi)

High Chief Emma Okolo Samuel was born on December 9th 1965 in Kontagora, Niger State Nigeria. To the family of Pa Samuel Nduka Okolo and Mama Princes Rose Akaeze Okolo all of blessed memory. He hail from Aniocha South Local Government Area (Ogwash-Uku),Delta State .

He is a devout Christian of Anglican Faith. His father Pa Samuel Nduka Okolo a Man well respected for his thought-out opinions and views was a successful civil servant who distinguished himself to the services of this Country. The multiple award winner Young Emma Okolo Samuel showed early Sings of his current successes right from his early days at St Mathew Primary School, Benin-city in the then old Bendel State from 1972-1976.

He was later transferred to Shadawanka Primary School, Bauchi in 1976 due to occupational mobility of his Father, Samuel Nduka Okolo from Benin-city to Bauchi where he worked with Post and Telecommunication (P&T) in 1976.Young Okolo obtained his first School Leaving Certificate (FSLC) in 1978. He was an outstanding pupil and athlete all through his school days. For his secondary education he started at Government Secondary School, Dass Bauchi State; from 1978. In 1981, he was transferred as a Science student by the State government from Government Secondary School Dass to Government Science Secondary School, Toro from 1981-1983;where he obtained the West African School Certificate Examination (WASC).

In his quest for higher education beyond the ordinary level certificate academic status. Emma Okolo Samuel applied for and subsequently gained admission at famous Federal Polytechnic Bauchi where he obtained the Ordinary National Diploma (OND) and Higher National Diploma (HND) in Food Science &Technology in 1986 and 1989 respectively.

High Chief Emma Okolo served his father land when he undertook the mandatory one year National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) programme, with Jos International Breweries (JIB) Jos, Plateau State between 1989-1990. On completion of his service programme, he was employed immediately with VEGFRU Export Department in Kano as an Export Supervisor where he successfully worked for only a year (1990-1991). But the High Chief Emma Okolo Samuel always knew that he had a bond with academic that he couldn’t deny accordingly, in 1991 he returned to Bauchi State to take up a teaching appointment with the state and worked at Comprehensive Secondary School Bauchi as a Classroom Teacher till 1992. High Chief Emma Okolo Samuel later joined the services of Federal Polytechnic, Bauchi as a lecturer in 1992, not satisfied with these academic feats and in further pursuit of greater knowledge, wisdom and the desire to quench his insatiable thirst for higher education.

Versatile, intelligent and knowledge driven, High Chief Emma Okolo Samuel took his search for knowledge to different courses, certifying and specializing in several fields of endevour, this made him a rounded professional, administrator and consummate politicians of towering repute.

He undertook a Postgraduate Diploma (PGD) Programme in computer science in 1995, Post graduate Diploma in Virology in 1997, Postgraduate Diploma in Microbiology in 2000 and a Master of Science (MSc) in Industrial Microbiology in 2012. All these academic achievements were recorded while in the service. High Chief Emma Okolo Samuel’s profile will be incomplete if his sporting and humanitarian exploits are not mentioned.

In 1976, he represented Bauchi State in Junior Table Tennis champion in the North East Nigeria. 1979,he was among the team that represented Bauchi State in the Senior Table Tennis Championship and the 1981 Triangular Senior Table Tennis champion (comprising Gongola, Bauchi and Borno State). He won several medals and trophies for Bauchi State during his sporting travails. He also won a gold medalist at the Polytechnic Senior Staff games ( NIPOSGA)

In the area of humanitarian services. High Chief Emma Okolo Samuel is an epitome of generosity as he personally constructed a kilometer road leading to Larema International Hotels and Suites, located behind old Dass Park, near the Federal Radio Station (Glo FM), at the foot of a big hill in the New Government Reservation Area (GRA) Bauchi.

As a friend of the needy, he has contributed to various programmes in alleviating poverty in the society and provided jobs for young entrepreneurs in the State, especially in hotel and tourism industry.

Little wonder indeed, a keen view around High Chief Emma Okolo Samuel's not too lavished office, yet a humble serene environment breaks volume of the humane personality of the High Chief.

The keen watcher may satisfy his glimpse by observing the accolades and awards adorning the walls of the Chief Executive's office.

These awards among many include;1999 personality of the year award; 2005 merit award certificate from the NYSC Road Safety Club; The Peace Ambassador award by UN 2009; 2010 Adviser of the year award by National Association of Food Science Technology Students (NAFSTS). ASUP Entrepreneurship and Humanitarian Services man of the year 2012. 2013 Award of Excellence from Junior Chambers International (JCI). 2014 award of Excellence in Tourism and Hospitality Management by Institute of Classic Entrepreneurship (ICEN). Amongst many others in similar range. Prominently, High Chief Emma Okolo Samuel in February 2014 was crowned with the Chieftaincy title of Onolene of Edo State Community Bauchi and ASUP Academic Staff Union of Polytechnic award 2015. Most recently, he is nominated for the YANKARI HALL OF FAME AWARD 2015-the highest award category in the series to honour and celebrate great archivers in Bauchi State and Nigeria who have distinguished themselves and have performed excellently in human development, peace, Justice and poverty eradication that warrants public acknowledgment.

High Chief Emma Okolo Samuel’s vast experience and business expertise can be attested in his conglomeration of interest as the CEO/MD of Haske Motors, Bauchi an authorized Vendor Car Loan Company for Union Bank Nigeria Plc, Bauchi and Gombe State, CEO/MD Haske Group of Companies, Bauchi and CEO/MD Larema International Hotels and Suites, Bauchi.

Other portfolios held are the Secretary, Delta State Community Bauchi (2012 to date) currently Chairman –Anioma Community Bauchi and one time chairman Enuani Community Bauchi. Students Staff Adviser (National Association of Food Science and Technology Students, Federal Polytechnic, Bauchi 2010 to date and the Public Relations Officer/Welfare Secretary Academic Staff Union of Polytechnic, (ASUP) Bauchi chapter. (1994-1998).

The life of High Chief Emma Okolo Samuel remains incomplete until in 1994, when he was happily married to his Jewel of inestimable value, a beautiful, loving and above all a willing spouse Mrs. Lara Okolo Samuel. This matrimony is blessed with 2 lovely children (A boy and a girl) who are presently in different universities in London reading Law and Medicine respectively.

Mrs. Lara Okolo Samuel over the years remained a veritable source of inspiration and support to High Chief Emma Okolo Samuel.

As a devout Christian of Anglican Faith who strongly relies on the power of prayers and God guidance on the execution of his responsibilities. His numerous contributions in strengthening the structures of the Church of Nigeria Anglican Communion is well noted.

The leisure pursuits of High Chief Emma Okolo Samuel include; making friends, watching sports, cracking jokes. He also indulges in indoor sports and games as a means of maintaining physical fitness. He is particularly penchant for playing Table Tennis and ardent supporter of Manchester United FC.
