The Ekiti State chapter of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) has expelled the State Secretary, Dr Tope Aluko and three other members of the State Working Committee over anti-party activities.

The other affected officers are Tunde Olatunde (Vice-Chairman, North), Mrs Busola Oyebode (Women Leader) and Tunji Olanrewaju (Assistant Secretary).

The expulsion of the officers followed the adoption by the State Executive Committee of the recommendations by the Disciplinary Committee set up by the party to probe the allegations levelled against them.

In a statement in Ado-Ekiti yesterday by the State Chairman, Chief Idowu Faleye and the outgoing Organising Secretary, Alhaji Lateef Agbaje, the SEC affirmed its support and recognition of Faleye as the state chairman as confirmed by the National Working Committee of the party.

It also lauded Governor Ayo Fayose for his leadership qualities and his efforts at moving the party forward both at state and national levels.

While the SEC appreciated the role of the NWC in the matter, it also commended the role played by elders and other stakeholders in the party.

It also approved the appointment of Chief Bola Olu-Ojo as the Special Adviser to the State Chairman on Party Matters based on his experience as a former state chairman of the party.

The SEC also ratified the nomination and appointment of some members of the SWC which included Faleye, Nelson Shaba (Deputy Chairman), Adejorin Temitope (State Secretary), Gbeyiro Sunday (Vice Chairman, North), Afolabi Yemisi Gloria (Women Leader), Jackson Adebayo (Publicity Secretary) among others.
