Lamorde, who spoke in Akure, the Ondo State capital at the beginning of a two-day workshop on budget monitoring and tracking organised for community-based organisations, non-governmental organisations, faith-based organisations, media and local government staff,  called for judicial reform to fast-track the prosecution of offenders of corruption .

The chairman was represented by the Director of Public Affairs Department of the Commission, Mr. Osita Nwajah.

The commission, according to him,  came up with the intiative under its prevention mandate to ensure citizen participation at all levels of budget processes for better service delivery.

“Participation in budget process is a constitutional right. Therefore, your insistence to participate in it does not violate any law; rather, it strengthens governance and leads to accelerated development and reduction in corrupt practices at all levels of government,” Larmode said.
