Increase efforts at securing the nation's pipeline, Ikpeazu tells NSCDC

Abia State Governor, Dr. Okezie Ikpeazu has charged officers and men of the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC) to intensify efforts at securing the nation’s pipelines and clamping down on child traffickers in the state.

Ikpeazu gave the charge when he received the new commandant of NSCDC, Abia State Command, Dr Benito Eze at Government House, Umuahia.

While commending the corps for its efforts in checking pipeline vandalisation in the State, the governor advised them to share intelligence with other security agencies and the state government to ensure adequate protection of the NNPC pipelines as well as fighting child trafficking.

He pledged to partner with the civil Defence as well as to support them in enhancing their operations in the state.

In his speech, the commandant congratulated the Governor on his emergence, and requested the state government’s continued support to enable them carry out effective patrol of the NNPC pipelines in the state.

He disclosed that the command recently rescued over 80 pregnant girls from child traffickers and pledged to discharge his duties according to the law.
