Boko Haram Attacks COAS 'S' Town, Killed 2, Burnt Down The Whole Town

Boko Haram terrorists have invaded Buratai town of Biu local government area of Borno state, the home town of the Chief of Army Staff Major General Tukur Yusuf Buratai killing two people, while several houses were burnt including that of the General Buratai and that of the former Borno state commissioner of education Barrister Isa Buratai.

A resident of Buratai who escaped to Biu town told our correspondent on phone that the Boko Haram insurgents who came in numbers invaded the village at about 3:30am on Tuesday and started shooting sporadically killing two people and start burning down the remaining houses that were still standing after their first attack on the town.

He said “you know they attacked our town sometimes ago and burnt some house but this time around they burnt the remaining houses in the town including the house of the General and Hon Isa Buratai”

A native of the town, resident in Maiduguri Mohammed Garba also told our correspondent that he was called by his brother who fled Buratai and informed him of the terrorist attack on Buratai in the early hours of Tuesday, adding that two people had been killed and the whole village burnt down.

He said all houses in the village including the house of the Chief of Army Staff , Major General Tukur Yusuf Buratai and that of former commissioner in Borno, Barrister Isa Buratai had b3en affected.

“yes it is true they attacked Buratai, I received a call

from my brother early this morning informing me that the insurgents have again invaded our home town and killed two people before razing the remaining structures in the town including that of COAS and Hon Buratai, he stated.

Confirming the incident, a security source from Biu who does not want his name in print because he is not authorized to speak to the press said “yes they attacked Burataiand killed two people and set ablaze houses including houses of prominent sons of the town.
