PRESIDENT BUHARI, IN GOOD CONSCIENCE, TINUBU CAN'T BE IGNORED IN NIGERIA

Mr. President, there is no aspect of our national polity that can ignore Bola Ahmed Tinubu and here is why. There are several Tinubu legacies that you as President are likely aware of and seven of the legacies of the Tinubu leadership should influence you as you hit the reset button of moving Nigeria forward.

The first is the legacy of a cross political marriage–helping to uncover and push out the thoughtful unity of North and Southwest resulting in the creation of presidential system that is fully representative of the people.

The second is the legacy of progressive democracy—helping to plant one message in all Nigerians that they naturally have an inclusive sprit and the will to eschew ethnic warfare in favor of a united vision for the country as seen during this past election.

The third is the legacy of shared sacrifice—experiencing and enduring political pains together through exile, and using a learned international and nationalistic mindset to steadily set the stage toward a slow but steady onward march towards a democratized society for the benefit of the people.

The fourth is the legacy of democratic commitment— committing to the belief that peace, prosperity and stability will cover the downtrodden and find a way into the mind of our ever- expanding youthful population of Nigeria as long as our leadership is true to its self.

The fifth is the legacy of democratic quest—the unyielding fight for the transformation of our emerging nation where the rule of law is fully practiced under a non-compromised judicial and justice system.

The sixth is the legacy of the people's satisfaction— appealing always to the conscience of the leadership to see the need for raising the quality of life of the people through true tenets of governance in order to reduce the chronic sight of misery and hopelessness in many of our people.

The seventh is the legacy of selfless leadership— appealing to the mind of public leadership to provide an environment where greed, selfishness and disloyalty are progressively replaced with a patriotic political and business mindset for the good of the country.

Tinubu is a man who believes in the practice of responsible politics, stays away from acts of perverse and mischievous politics, and is continuously concerned about public interest and advancement.  The collective influence of Tinubu, his instrumental ways that led in the formation of the current ruling party, and the leadership form of campaign he exhibited that resulted in the Presidential wining leaves him in the positive judgment of God, the people and posterity.

Mr. President, in the midst of our ongoing democratic struggles, what we all need more than ever is the pragmatic politics of Tinubu, his grassroots leadership, his communal style, his noninvasive politics, political kindness, professional faithfulness, his managerial mind, his constant cry for social progress and constant push for fundamental and progressive moves in public service as we slowly build our way into a real form of democratic rule.
