Boko Haram:23b needs in Adamawa state to rebuild Damaged Public Institutions

The Governor of Adamawa state ,Muhammadu Umaru Jibrilla Bindowo, has constituted an assessment committee to be chaired by Mr. Ibrahim Emmanuel to know the level of damage incurred by the state as a results of insurgency.

Ibrahim disclosed that a whooping N23b is needed to rejuvenate public institutions destroyed by Boko Haram insurgents when they held sway in the state.

While presenting the report, Emmanuel noted that the estimates only covered the cost of reinvigorating public institutions in the state adding that he did not factor costs of personal lost incurred by the affected people.

Receiving the report, Governor Muhammdu Ummaru Jibrilla Bindow expressed optimism that very soon Public institutions in the state will be revived saying that he has confidence that PMB will fulfill all promises taken.

According to the governor, the estimates involves only public institutions damaged but did not factor infrastructure and private buildings and structures destroyed by the insurgents when they held sway.

Bindow added that the assessment, was a response to a presidential directive for the affected states to come up with estimates for the refurbishing of damaged public institutions in Boko Haram ravaged states.

The governor expressed happiness that the Federal Government is showing unprecedented concern over the plight of the affected states hence the directive by the president for the states to compile estimates of the destroyed public institutions for onward transmission to the presidency adding that very soon reconstruction of the damaged institutions will take effect.

Bindow stressed that with the gesture very soon public institutions like health centers, schools, and police stations will be revived promising to follow up the requests after submitting the documents.

"I am sure the Federal Government will come to our aid," he said.

During their siege on the state, Boko Haram have annexed 7 local Governments where they destroyed public institutions, infrastructure and other essential structures in the annexed areas.
