Citation Of Prince Eze Madumerem Mfr (ksc)

By Uche Onwuchekwa

Prince Ezeakonobi Anorue Madumere was born on the 4th Day of July 1964 to the Royal family of HRH Eze Henry Anorue Madumere and Ugoeze Malinda Madumere of Achi, Ezi-Mbieri, Mbaitoli Local Government Area of Imo State.

He attended Primary and Secondary Education in Owerri and Lagos State respectively after which he traveled to the United States of America for further studies. He had a degree in Business Administration (Management) from San-Jacinto College, University of Houston in Texas.

While in the United States of America, he worked as an Area Manager of Channel Development in the KFC with PepsiCo Inc. for thirteen years. Thereafter in 1996, he later founded Rem Group International, an International Trading Company, and owners of Deluxe Hair Studio & Beauty Supplies, with Headquarters in Houston, Texas where he is the Chief Executive Officer. Having settled in Nigeria, Prince Eze interest spanning the field of Electronics, Construction, Aviation, Oil and Gas etc, also led him to found Peze Products Limited, where he is Chief Operations Officer.

Prince Eze Madumere is a devout Christian of the Anglican Dominion, a Knight of Saint Christopher and a lovely family man with four children (2 boys and 2 girls). In 2012, he was conferred with the prestigious honour of Member of the Federal Republic (MFR) by President Goodluck Jonathan for his Philanthropy and patriotism.

Ogbuhuruzo as he is called by his people is an apostle of peace who could stop at nothing to achieving peace. In the Oil producing communities of Imo State, his name stands out as a peace maker who never negotiated away the interest of the people for any reason.

Prince Eze Madumere is the Crown Prince of Ezi-Ihe Autonomous Community, and he is traditionally prohibited from taking traditional titles. However, several communities and traditional authorities both in Imo State and beyond have continued to honour the revered Prince with various traditional recognitions.

In Mbieri, he has remained a jinx breaker to many for resolving issues that were considered a puzzle. Little wonder this trail blazer is christened an apostle of positive change.

For Prince Madumere’s philanthropy, a friend of the down trodden, harbinger of hope for the hopeless and a patriot. His love for the less privileged led to the establishment of Prince Eze Initiatives, a non-profit making organization that is committed to the welfare and educational needs of orphans and the aged, as well as youth empowerment.

During the 1998/1999 Gubernatorial Elections in Nigeria, Ezeako as his folks fondly called him came back home to serve as Director for Women and Youth Mobilization for Owelle Rochas Okorocha’s campaign in Imo State under the Peoples Democratic Party in Imo State (PDP).

Thus in 2002/2003, having distinguished himself in his earlier assignment, he was called back again from his United States abode at short notice to serve as Chief Strategist on Media and Logistics for Owelle Rochas Okorocha’s Presidential bid under the ANPP in 2002-2003. He has also is worked in the Presidency as the Chief of Staff to the Presidential Adviser on Inter-Party Relations, Owelle Rochas Okorocha.

Prince Eze Madumere is a truly tasted politician who is not only embued with the knowledge of the inner dynamics of politics but also equipped with a vast knowledge of the field. In December 03, 2005, he ran for the Senate seat in Imo East Senatorial District (Owerri Zone) after it was declared vacant following the death of Senator Amah Iwuagwu. Prince Madumere ran a tireless campaign and was so rated by both the major and the opinion polls as a likely winner. But try to assoil or challenge the political rating of Prince Madumere is only a consolation for those who are new to Imo politics for he has not only demonstrated he is a contending force even his opponents admitted he is.

Prince Madumere MFR is a consummate politician, a Media Strategist, an astute Administrator as well as Management Guru, a team player and an overall strategist per excellence.

But his loyalty and commitment to selfless service also made him a victim of political intrigue and intimidation, culminating in his illegal arrest and incarceration by security operatives on trumped up charges based on a so called order from above.

Poised to achieve their evil desire, a kangaroo legal process was speedily initiated based on the unfounded and laughable allegation that he led a group of undisclosed persons to throw sachet water at the convoy of former President Olusegun Obasanjo in company of the then Governor Ikedi Ohakim.

He was confined to an unjust detention for about a week at the Imo State Police Command Headquarters, Owerri for refusing to betray his boss and releasing whatever strategic information of the Rescue Mission Campaign Organization. He was thereafter whisked to Owerri Prisons on awaiting trial for about one month at the time the Imo Rescue Mission was holding the grand finale rally in Owerri.

It took the efforts of the Nigerian Civil Societies, their international counterparts and the Media to secure his release.

No wonder Prince Madumere is today known and referred to as the "Mandela of our time". His single minded doggedness and effrontery in challenging an evil and wicked administration, even in the face of danger, endears him to all lovers of democracy worldwide.

After the 2011 election where His Excellency, Owelle Rochas Okorocha OON emerged victorious as the Governor, Prince Ezeakonobi Madumere MFR, an oasis of loyalty, humility, diligence, and strategy, was appointed the Chief of Staff to the Governor of Imo State where he exhibited obstinate drive for excellence. He demystified the office and was so effective and efficient that people mistook him for a second timer as Chief of Staff.

Thereafter another opportunity presented itself when the then Deputy Governor was impeached by Imo State House of Assembly. Prince Eze Madumere, a contempt Chief of Staff was busy doing his job, packaging others for possible replacement of the ousted Deputy Governor. Little did he know that his boss, Governor Rochas Okorocha had a contrary opinion, which resulted in the elevation of Prince Eze Madumere as the Deputy Governor of Imo State. Furthermore, in 2015, Governor Rochas Okorocha, satisfied with the dogged commitment and peaceful relationship he enjoys with Prince Eze Madumere, also considered him fit as his running mate in the 2015 Guber Election. Today, Prince Eze Madumere is the elected Deputy Governor of Imo State.

Apart from the National Honours Award of Member of the Federal Republic (MFR), Prince Eze Madumere is a recipient of several other awards too numerous to mention from Students, Women Groups, Artisans, Communities and Corporate bodies, some of which are:
