5 Killed In Suicide Attack At Redeemed Church In Northern Nigeria

BEVERLY HILLS, July 05, (THEWILL) –  Five persons have been killed in a suicide attack at a branch of the Redeemed Christian Church of God, Nigeria's largest Pentecostal church, in Potiskum, Yobe State.

THEWILL gathered that the incident occurred at about 10.am on Sunday.

Mr. Toyin Gbadegesin, the Police Public Relations Officer (PPRO) of the state command, told the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) in Damaturu that the dead included the male suicide bomber.

“A male suicide bomber detonated a bomb at Redeemed Church at Jigawa area of Potiskum, killing five on the spot.

“A female member of the church who sustained injuries also died while receiving treatment in the hospital,” he said, adding that the injured are receiving treatment at various health facilities in the area.

A similar attack on June 15 killed at least 10 persons and injured several others.
