Legislator advises Bindow to give Youth a chance to his administration

A member representing Mubi south in the state House of Assembly, Alhaji Abdulrahman Abubakar, has urged Gov. Jibrilla Bindow of Adamawa to appoint new crop of politicians into his administration.

Especially the Youths with good potentials of leadership that will show Case his government.

Abubakar, who is the House Committee Chairman on Finance, Budget and appropriation made the call on Tuesday while speaking to newsmen in Yola.

He stressed the need to appoint the young crop of both politicians and technocrats to provide good governance as well as showcase the change.

He rues the romance between Gov Bindow the `old brigade’ politicians in recent time.

He noted that the same caliber of politicians have failed the people of the state in the past.

He said that the new crop of politicians would perform better, noting that the change philosophy was inherent among the new crop of politicians.

``We need to test young people because the old brigade politicians had failed the state.

``I will advise the governor to inject new blood in his administration to enable him deliver on his mandate.

``Our young crop of politicians and technocrats alike has the zeal to take this state to the promise land.’’

The law maker also urged the governor to make judicious use of the civil service in the state.

Abubakar stressed the need to assigned civil servants as committee members to carry out committee assignments rather than recruiting the same old brigade politicians into extra-ministerial committees.

He expressed optimism that the state civil service had the capacity to deliver if it was fully motivated.

He also advised the governor to hit the ground by addressing the issue of poverty and infrastructural development.

He opined that other areas of governance that were not on the priority list during their political campaign should come later.
