EFCC Expresses Shock Over Fani-Kayode's Acquittal In Graft Suit

SAN FRANCISCO, June 01, (THEWILL) – The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) says it has received with shock news of the acquittal of Mr. Femi Fani-Kayode, a former Minister of Aviation, in the corruption suit it pursued against the controversial politician.

The Wednesday ruling was delivered by Justice Rita Ofili- Ajumogobia of the Federal High Court Lagos.

“The Commission is making effort to obtain a Certified True Copy of the ruling, to enable it respond appropriately after careful review of the judgment” in the two-count money laundering suit, Wilson Uwujaren, EFCC's Head, Media & Publicity, said in a statement some minutes after the ruling.
