Statement by Minister Flanagan on terrorist attack in Cairo

DUBLIN, Ireland, June 30, 2015/African Press Organization (APO)/ -- The Minister for Foreign Affairs and Trade, Mr Charlie Flanagan T.D., has condemned the terrorist attack in Cairo which killed Egyptian Prosecutor General Hisham Barakat.

“I condemn the terrorist attack which killed Prosecutor General Barakat and wounded a number of others, including bystanders and persons travelling with Mr Barakat. The use of violence and terror is unacceptable and represents an attack on Egypt's constitution and its judicial system.

I offer my sympathies to the family of Mr Barakat and all the other victims of this attack. “
