By Tom Garba, Yola

The Bishop of Damaturu, Right Reverend Abiodun Ogunyomi, has appealed to all Christians and Muslim stake holders ,other like minds Nigerians to embark on a massive protest to National Assembly complex over multi billion naira budget for wardrobe of the national Assembly members.

The Bishop labelled the lawmakers as wicked and true enemies of Nigerian by collecting almost half of the income Nigeria generate for the few of them as against the over 160million Nigerians.

He said unless this is done the members of the National Assembly will not learn the rudiments of representing the people of Nigeria and they will continue to represent themselves with a gigantic budget for wardrobe.

The Bishop spoke in Yola, during the fiftieth anniversary of the Bishop of Anglican Communion, Bishop Marcus Amfani Ibrahim, also advocated a revolution in Nigeria under the Buhari administration calling for austerity measures to curtail excessive life style of Nigerians who visit Dubai and America at the expense of other Nigerians.

He said, “Unless we protest for two weeks or more at the gates of the national Assembly these people will not understand the rudiments of representing all Nigerians but will continue to amass huge funds meant for development for wardrobe and other mundane purposes because it is wickedness for them to collect 5 quarter of the national income on huge salaries”

The Bishop added if it is revolution that will set Nigeria free from the bounds of wicked leaders is much a welcome idea

"I support a serious revolution to sieve out the bad leaders in this country, those that will die let them die to change Nigeria for good" He added

He said, “There can never be any meaningful development in the land when those who are given an opportunity to serve go and serve themselves in stupendous allowances”

Bishop Ogunyomi who is of the Anglican Communion said there can never be development for the very people given the golden opportunity to serve the people go about serving themselves by acquiring huge properties how can there be development.

He also called on President Mohammed Buhari to ensure massive jailing of corrupt politicians as the Church will support him if all those who have made the country become what it is today are jailed

> On Boko Haram Bishop Abiodun Ogunyomi, said politicians were behind Boko Haram and Buhari should round them up and jail them.

> He said former President Jonathan failed to take action because he was eating and drinking with the politicians who were sponsoring Boko Haram and he was too weak to do something about them.

He pointed out that, “The average Northerner don’t want trouble but politicians who want political power are the ones providing arms, ammunition and food to Boko Haram to cause crisis in the country.

Bishop Ogunyomi said, in Damaturu they destroyed the general hospital where the sick go to get healing and they also destroyed the universality very important institutions where some people are looking for federal presence in their place these people are destroying the very federal present and institutions that serve the common people of the society.

> He said, “It will take about 50 years for Damaturu to recover from the damage caused by Boko Haram and those who are the sponsors are still living among the society, the average Northerners I know very well are peace loving but there are some evil mischievous politicians who don’t want the peace of the people”

“We have never had these problems under the military we have been living under peaceful atmosphere for long before politicians started using splinter armed groups for their political purposes because politicians want power”.

He concluded that if Buhari will jail many of these wicked politicians who have corruptly mismanaging the national funds Nigerians will jubilate on the streets.
