Notice To Abate The Ignominious And Nostalgic Display Of Sir Celestine Omehia's Picture On The Roll Of Past Governors In Rivers State.

Our attention has been drawn to the ignominious, nostalgic and self-serving action of Governor Nyesom Wike by placing Sir Celestine Omehia's picture on the roll of past Governors of Rivers State and purporting to have "restored all rights and privileges to Sir Omehia as a former Governor of the State".

The said action of Chief Nyesom Wike is not only laughable, it also shows lack of understanding of the rudiments of law and the essence election. We wish to remind Chief Wike and all those who held themselves out to promote the illegality that no matter how elegantly well the speech was presented or how colourful and memorable the occasion seemed, it did not confer on Sir Celestine Omehia any rights or privileges as former Governor of Rivers State, because "IN THE EYES OF THE LAW" SIR OMEHIA WAS NEVER A GOVERNOR OF RIVERS STATE.

It is sadden that Sir Celestine Omehia, a senior member of the Bar, who should have known better, would allow his image and person to be brought to such level of mockery and disrepute, just for Chief Nyesom Wike to score a cheap political point. Unfortunately, they have scored a NEGATIVE POINT with this ignominious action. It is as shameful as it is contemptible.

I advise Sir Celestine Omehia, free of charge, to refrain and severe himself from any such gestures, no matter how pleasantly coated, which is likely to bring him to disrepute and lower his estimation before the Nigerian people. I take it for granted that Sir Celestine Omehia would not allow himself to be drawn into another round of fruitless litigations.

In the circumstance, I hereby give NOTICE and DEMAND that Chief Nyesom Wike and Sir Celestine Omehia should within 14days abate the irritant and apologies to the good people of Rivers State for the embarrassing situation or face a legal action.
