BEVERLY HILLS, May 29, (THEWILL) – There was a mild drama, Friday, as the immediate past governor of Delta State, Dr. Emmanuel Uduaghan, declined to speak at the inauguration ceremony of his successor, Senator Ifeanyi Okowa, as the new Governor of Delta State.

At the inauguration ceremony which held at the Cenotaph in Asaba, the Delta State capital, the large crowd was anxiously waiting for the final comment or words of advice from the outgoing governor to Okowa.

As it was customary for the outgoing governor to speak and give his stewardship to the people, he was invited by the Master of Ceremony, Pastor Powell Ojougho. But there was a mild drama at the podium, leading to a turn of events as Uduaghan refused to speak.

Okowa was therefore ushered to the podium to address Deltans who had gathered from all over the state to witness the his swearing-in ceremony as the new Governor.

From the commencement of the ceremony to the end, Uduaghan did not speak to the people as he was silent all through.

However, his wife, Roli, gave the closing prayer at the ceremony and Uduaghan, who was dressed in a native attire in company of his wife and some of his aides, left the podium before Okowa.
